Default Cant compile or build on chapter 3

Ok guys,

I am at the end of Chapter 3, where the 'Configuring Health Monitoring System'. Here we have to create an additional project to put the 'customevent'. I did that and entered the code as in the book. But now it won't compile!!!!

It shows that it several namespaces does not recognize, like using System.Web.Security; -> "Security"
using System.Web.UI; -> "UI"
using System.Web.UI.WebControls; -> "UI"
using System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts; -> "UI"
using System.Web.UI.HtmlControls; -> "UI"
using System.Web.Management; -> "Management"

I don't know how you guys managed it, but I could use some help from the community.

Could not find the book you are using. I am using ASP.NET 1.1 and it is certainly not in there. As a suggestion, find your book in the Browse Book tab and check the Errata Sheet.

Hope this helps.

There was no mentioning of any errors on chapter 3 of the errata sheet. However, I did lookup the namespace collections just to see if they exist, I found all except two: System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts and System.Web.Management. Even that does not mean they don't exist, but they were not in my list via the ASP.NET Web Matrix. This only makes me think that is a "syntax-type" error, which can turn out to be the most difficult to find. But on a positive note: after reading the book's excerpt, I wsas intrigued by the approach and I am considering looking into it, if I can tear myself away from ADO.NET and use the ASP.NET Web Matrix. So thanks for the incentive, stzd8.

Peace95,

I got it compiling the project since it needed the "System.Web" reference on the project. But on the mail web project, it cannot compile due to problems with the Web.config <healthmonitoring> settings not finding "MB.TheBeerHouse.CustomEvents"... What gives, I added the reference on the web project.
