This is basically a discussion thread. I want to discuss here what are the ways by which you can access form values between different pages in ASP.NET. One is you can do by session and sometimes by setting cookies. What are the other ways available?

You could:
- pass them to another page in the querystring
- write them to some persistent medium (database, file)

No, actually I wanted other options than database. Thanks! for your answer. The use of temp files didn't struck me.

Files would be technically possible, but I'd recommend highly that you do not user that method. It will be slower than all the other options and depending on how you do it you could end up with lots of problems. If you are developing for a site that will be hosted on a web farm, then files are out of the question because of distributed processing. Why are you opposed to the database option?

No not actually opposed! I want to store the information there temporary and once confirmed by the user I will feed it to the database. And in that way I could reduce unnecessary pressure on the database and also on the SQL queries. I prefer session for it was available from classic asp.
