I have now made my first MasterPage with several contentplaceholders and some belonging ContentPages.

It is all by the book....hmmmm, I think.

Do you have any idea why it does not show up in my browser?
What is the most common mistakes when beeing a beginner on page 33 in "Beginning ASP.NET with C#"?

Are you trying to view your masterpage in a browser? You have to create a page that uses your masterpage and then view that page.

Hi,

Are you trying to incoporate use the masterpage for your default.aspx. So basically you can't see your masterpage in the default.aspx. If this is the case you can fix it with this code. In source view on your Default.aspx you need add this at the top of the page. You probably have something like this

<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="Default2" %>

You need to replace it with this

<%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/[YOUR MASTER PAGE NAME].master" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="_Default" Title="Untitled Page" %>
