Default resizing the contentplaceholder in the master page

hi
im new to master pages.. im trying to build a master page with a header, footer and two middle frames. im trying to resize the content placeholders in it.. but i cant move it or resize it. plz help me through..

hi there..

don't worry about it size, when you add content in the derivated page it will grow the content placeholder automatic...

also you want to move it to have it in other place?? you can add as many content placeholder as you want, just drop them from the control panel...
