Default Contentpage stretching table cells

I am trying to design a simple site and I am having problems with understanding tables and contentpage.

Basically, I have a site that has a nav bar on the right and then I am trying to create a content page to the right of that. The cell width is 650px--and I have just dragged a contentpage into the cell.

The problem I have is that the contentpage width is stretching into the navbar on the left--and it is doing it when I would think it shouldn't be. All I started off putting in the contentpage is a pic that is 350px wide and another pic that is 75px wide. As soon as I drop the 75px picture in, the contentpage autostretches into the nav bar cell--shrinking it--almost as if it has padding set up (it doesn't).

Is there a way to define the width of a contentpage to prevent it from taking up its neighboring cell's width?

This is driving me crazy.

:)

Any help would be MUCH appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Rob Searing

I think you're better off posting this in the HTML forum, as it has much more to do with HTML than with ASP.NET.

Cheers,

Imar

Ok---my issue, I thought, was actually the ASP Contentpage...as it seemed to be taking priority to the table cell--I was wondering if there was a contentpage property that I was neglecting that wouldn't widen the contentpage itself.

I'll mess around tonight with some of the CSS style rules and then either re-post or add another here.

Thanks SO much,
Rob

Ok, Imar was correct. This turned out to not be a ASP issue, but an HTML issue--and I couldn't find a way to delete this post.

I solved this by removing all "width" styles from my HTML and putting them in the CSS file--creating ID's for the HTML elements I was wanting to dictate a specific width. I think too many things were conflicting.

Thanks Imar!!

Kind Regards,
Rob Searing
