Default XP Home Edition permissions

Hi there,
I'm trying to get started but I've become stuck at the first hurdle. I'm to the point of changing the permissions. I restarted in SafeMode and followed the instructions of right clicking the App_Data folder. I select properties but there is no security tab! Help please! Thanks

You probably don't need to enable Network Service if you have admin permissions already. I didn't bother with this when the security tab was not displayed and have been able to do everything locally, set up roles, memberships and read/write to databases. When you come to deploy your website the Network Service permissions are not transferable on to your host anyway. You will have to get the host to set the permissions up for you.

Good luck

Andy M

Umm since your running on Home you are using Cassini for your webserver so, since you have no IIS Console, you should just make sure that the ENTIRE directory has the necessary permissions.
