Need some direction on this error. The archive post from 2002 was not helpful in anyway.
ERROR:
It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level.
This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.
C:\Users\adam\Documents\Visual Studio 2005\WebSites\All_Chapters\Chapter03\Begin\Chapter 03\WroxUnited\web.config

Go to: start --> run --> inetmgr

Expand your website and locate the folder the contains your .NET project right click and choose properties. Where is says application click 'Create' and the directoy will be setup as an application. This should fix your problem.

I am runing Vista, there is not a create option.

Thanks for the link, however, after trying his "solution" I still have the same error.

The web.config works for the master without issue. The Chapter 3 web.config gives me problems.

One other note, I am not using IIS. I'm using Casini.

What book are you using?
