If you have enough programming experience to jump right in, look at either
Professional VB.NET 2003
http://www.wrox.com/WileyCDA/WroxTit...764556584.html
or
Professional C# 3rd Edition
http://www.wrox.com/WileyCDA/WroxTit...764557599.html
depending on whether you want to code VB or C#.

You can also read both of these books in the Wrox online library (along with more than 200 other Wrox books) at http://wrox.books24x7.com
subscriptions there start at $49.99 for 3 months and there's a 7 day free trial

Hmm, it's opening just fine for me. Here's the description from the home page:

Welcome to the Wrox Reference Library, offering web access to the full contents of dozens of books from Wrox.

Search, browse and view the complete contents of every book in the library.

Create personal bookshelves and add bookmarks and notes. Quickly find the information you need to get the job done, wherever you may be.
