I have a gridview with autogenerated columns..which depends on the user logged in..In order to make it editable i added textboxes to it.i want to update these values to the database..how do i do it?

What data source are you using? When you set up your DataSource connection - whether SQL or other - you can specify there if it should support EDITS, INSERTS, DELETES, etc. Once you have that set the links will be displayed for you, you don't have to add your own text boxes...
