Default online exam project

i am doing a project on exmination ssytem. i want to implement a timer control such tht it strts after clicking start test button. wen the first qt come up, then timer shuld start and after clickining on next button, timer shuold continue showing the remaining time and 2nd qt. and it will continue like this.
                 plz help me out. its urgent

Erm.. Timer may be a good place to start...

This doesn't sound like a amazingly difficult task, how come its so urgent? Teacher want the homework assignment in?
