Regular Expression validation

i have a textbox of 2 character length first cahracter must be a alphanumaric and second can be null or a alphanumaric charcter but not space i peraon can jum by typeing only one charcter to another field but he fills the second character it must be a-z or 19 any thing how we can validate this
