I have a timesheet screen. we have to enter the time sheet with in a grid. i am using data source control. if there is no record, i dynamically create one data row and bind into the grid. In this situation, if i give sorting equal to true. Error has come for sorting is not allowing this situation. i am using databound,prerender,databinding,rowediting,rowdele ting,rowupdating events. Which event I have to use sorting property equal to true.

I can't understand why you do that all,If you do this to show some thing while there is no result returened then you should use gridview's property "EmptyDataText"

if i have no record, i have to display no record found into the grid. and by default footer part also will display in the grid. throu footer only i enter the record. if am not create the new row dynamically, there is no grid found in the screen

You can display 'No record found' message in gridview while datasource does't return any recod.
1-Set 'Empty data text' property of gridview
or
2-Write Message in 'empty data tamplate' of gridview
