Default Performance Tuning

Hii ,
Actually i'm using the concept of master pages in my project,so my problem is that everytime i need a postback, the whole page refreshes ....what i want is that only the content place holder portion should postback not the header and footer ....and the headers and footers should avoid that round up trip to the server.....this will definitely increase my performance.

Plz help me out....
Thanxs in advance.

Implement Ajax. Put your main content placeholder in an ajax update panel.

Perhaps you need to look at performance of your server code. You could use a tool like Red-Gate Ants Profiler to analyze the performance of your pages. Perhaps there's something else going on that's causing the poor speed.
