Default How to search a database foe a unique name

Hi i have a login name conntrol in my page and want to search the database for loginname.text matching the exact record and show it in a label control,
how can i do that?

Hi there,

First of all, this is the ASP.NET Pro forum. It looks like your question would be much better suited in one of the ASP.NET Beginners categories here at p2p.wrox.com

That said, you might want to get yourself a Beginning book on ASP.NET, like my Beginning ASP.NET 3.5 in C# an VB. While it doesn't show you how to manually write code to target a database directly, it does show you all the security features that ASP.NET offers: http://www.wrox.com/WileyCDA/WroxTit...47018759X.html
