Default Solution Explorer does not show designer.vb file

Hello All,

I have a question concerning the Solution Explorer in Visual Web Developer Express 2008 that I use at home. I have a friend that owns Visual Studio 2008 and in the Solution Explorer there are files under there .aspx file(s) with the designer.vb extension. For example the file will say Form1.aspx.designer.vb, why do these files not show in VWD Express? Is there some option that I need to set to show these files?

Thanks In Advance for any and all help,
Hallie

Hi Hallie,

Maybe you have a Web Site Project instead of a Web Application Project?

With a WSP you don't get these designer files, you only get them with WAPs.
You create a WSP through File | New Web Site and a WAP through File | New Project | ASP.NET Web Application

For a detailed examination of the differences, check here: http://www.compiledthoughts.com/2008...n-project.html

Cheers,

Imar
