Good ASPNET 3.5 web hosting?
i was looking at discountasp and was about to sign up for it...
then i got a little iffee on it.
anyone know a good, reliable asp.net host? not super expensive, just something i can make a school project on and not have the "user doesnt have permission to execute this query" message when i try to use a db app.
my site is looking pretty neat, everything works from my end.. i just need a web host that works for me.

I've been researching that a lot myself. After a while, all hosting companies seem the same IMO. It's funny you mentioned that discountASP.net looked iffy to you. Of all the companies I looked at (seekdotnet, discountASP, crystaltech, webhost4asp, webhost4life, m6.net, bizhost.net, and more), DiscountASP.net seemed like the best host out there.
What made you suspicious? Also, there are cupon codes everywhere to get 6-months free of a one-year hosting package with them.
Hope that helps.

im not sure why... but something just didnt feel right...
i guess because it got advertised as "$15 per month" but they didnt say the initial fee was $105, which you find out while your registering... i work at McDonald's right now, im not rich. :D
anyways i think im being a bit cheap but buying a web space isnt my fort'e.

I gotcha. From my experience with different web hosts, they all claim a low monthly price, but fail to mention until you have to give em your credit card # that it only applies when you buy a full year of hosting or something. I've been with about 4-5 hosts, and the only one I haven't had any trouble or BS with is HostGator. Too bad they only offer Linux hosting at the moment.
If anyone else has had any experience with a good ASP.NET host, we'd all love to hear about it.

I have used www.somee.com and never have any problem. Well, at least the people I made page for, and they host them on it, never report me a problem... They even have a free package for you to try it.

Thanks for that gbianchi! One of the big reasons I was leaning towards discountASP.net was that they're one of the few hosts to my knowledge that actually offer the IIS 7.0 URL Rewrite module on a shared hosting plan. I'm designing my site from the ground up to be as SEO friendly as possible, and I REALLY don't want to have to code all the friendly URL rewriting myself.
Does Somee offer that too?
