Smile Crystal Report

Hi:

I have a problem with generating reports using Crystal Reports

Dim cryRpt As New CrystalReport2

EmpDetailsViewer.ReportSource = cryRpt

Dim paramCollection As New CrystalDecisions.Shared.ParameterValues()

Dim paramEmployeeID As New CrystalDecisions.Shared.ParameterDiscreteValue()

Dim paramFirstName As New CrystalDecisions.Shared.ParameterDiscreteValue()

paramEmployeeID.Value = "26".ToString()

paramCollection.Clear()

paramCollection.Add(paramEmployeeID)

cryRpt.DataDefinition.ParameterFields("@Refid").Ap plyCurrentValues(paramCollection)

paramFirstName.Value = "1"

paramCollection.Clear()

paramCollection.Add(paramFirstName)

cryRpt.DataDefinition.ParameterFields("@index").Ap plyCurrentValues(paramCollection)

studying the above code, it must have been clear that I've been trying to generate a dynamic report. But my method is not fully dynamic. In the file Crystal Report file, I had to include a data definition through wizards...Now I need to define a custom data definittion. So How will I be able to do so?? If somebody understood my problem, then please help me out..

Thanks,
Pratisha

Default

instead of crystal report you can use StimuleReport that supports design view at runtime, easy to create (Office 2007 IDE) and many other advantages to Crystal Report
