Image Gallery Control
Hi All
I am looking for a very low cost (preferably free!) control to provide an image gallery on a small website I am putting together.
I have tried Notesforgallery and it basically does what I need but does not appear to have any facilities for limiting the thumbnails presented on a page. i.e. if the folder containing the 'gallery' contains 200 photos, 200 thumbnails will be generated and displayed - regardless of the length of the webform/body.
I like the simple concept of a contol that simly looks at a folder full of images but would prefer to be able to specify the maximum number of thumbnails to display and have a paging option to the next 'batch'.
Don't want to use a database because the user cannot afford the extra hosting fees involved!
Any suggestions anyone?
Or perhaps suggestions for a method of grabbing the images from a folder and putting thumbnails in a gridview, showing information like file name or other properties of the image; with a means of opening a larger image on clicking the gridview thumbnail.
I'm very much a beginner with all this so a ready made control like Notesforgallery is probably better, but if anyone is willing/able to 'handfeed' me with the latter approach I'm ready and willing to learn!
