Default What to read

So I have the old Professional ASP.NET 2.0 books that I never read and am finally able to start getting into the them. Should I read them before reading the 3.5 SP1 books and after the 3.5 SP1 books move to 4 or should I start with 3.5 or just start with 4.

Buy an ASP.NET MVC book and learn that.

If you're just starting out, I would recommend skipping WebForms altogether.
