Default How to create an instance of SQLSERVER and INFORMIX

Hi,

I am working on a vb6 to vb.net migration project. I need to create an instance of SQLSERVER and INFORMIX
Code:
Public sqlhelper As New sqlserver,Public _informix As New informix 
. But its throwing an error like sqlserver not defined etc. How can I create the instance without any error. Please advice.
