Default How to handle session

hi ,
Please share ur thoughts how to handle the below scenario

I have to import values from excel to database actually it much time due to lot of records and validation, but at the mean while my session gets expired due to bulk insert.

how to handle this situation

This should be done ofline. The file can be uploaded and then be processed through batch. A report can be provided and be availabel online - the report tells whether all records are inserted successfully and lists all exceptions.
