Default UpdatePanel without ScriptManager

How to use updatePanel without ScriptManager in ASP.NET. Is it possible to use it without ScriptManager

No you can't. the scriptmanager is the "server" that has all the js need for ajax to work. So you can't just sent the updatepanel, because nobody will execute the code it needs.
