Default Which is right for me now, asp,wpf or silverlight

I am a starter, wondering in the sea of knowledge and indecision, I am kind of confused about where to settle down between asp, silverligt and wpf, I know I cant do all three now. I have a fair understanding of information systems cus I hold an associate diploma in computing, thru this I develop passion to build business solutions for organizations and individuals.however, I havent gone very far, cuz since I left school, I have been exploring different programming languages, from php to vb finally to c# where I will stay cuz its similar to java and c which I was introduced to back at school. however I spent considerable time learning the language itself on console apps. Howver a friend thrilled me with some wpf applications, I love it because of the animation and the ability to create ur on controls in blend,I even abandoned asp to take hold of the oppurtunity to merge animation and programming in oᓘne, however I see a limitation it has to what id like to do,like creating a hospital management system, online booking system banking system, and the fact that it takes extensive study just to learn how to bind to controls etc...
So based on this what do you think, can silverlight achieve what asp can? when would you use asp or silverlight or wpf(which in my understanding is desktop app). Thanks
