Default menu drop down items are hidden behind slideshow

Hello, I have a slide show directly below the main menu and when i hover with the mouse on the items, the drop down sub items for each item is hidden behind the slideshow...
any help greatly appreciated!
how can you force them to appear at the top of anything else ?
Please help!
Is there a way to post a picture as well in this forum in order for you to understand better what I mean?

I want to update.
I placed
style="z-index:9999"
in my menu ul li in the css file and everything works fine!
:)
