Hi there,

I have installed on my pc VS2013 express edition for web apps.
I just created a New website, but when the wb is created on the Solution Explorer I just see the web.config and web.debug.config not the other files and folders like app_data/Content/.., default.aspx. Etc. As a result, I can't run the first example How can I fixed,
I am learning.

Hi there,

Which book are you following?

When you create a new site, the New Site dialog offers you a few options. It looks like you chose the Empty web site. Try using the ASP.NET Web Forms template instead.

Cheers,

Imar

Smile Thanks.

In fact, I did later ASP.NET Web form and works fine, but not the Empty new website.
It's so weird. I do not have idea how to programming, but viewing your reviews hopefully I can catch quickly. Any recommendations on my studies are truly appreciated.

thanks.

It's by design. An empty web site is empty, and contains nothing but the web.config files.

You may want to get my Beginning ASP.NET 4.5 or 4.5.1 book, as they discuss this in great detail:

That's what this book is for! If you have specific questions about the book, you can post them here.

Cheers,
