Default Visual web developer page templates

Is there a way a I can modify the code of the page templates without having to manually change it each time I create a new document based upon one of these?

For example on every page I have to change the doctype to strict; it would be nice to just have a page created with this doctype by default.

I know I can create my own page templates but I would like to modify the existing default ones if this is possible?

I found the folder in which they are stored, opened the file up and made the changes but it wont let me save the changes saying that "Access is denied"

Is this possible to do? I am using windows 7 home premium and an administrative account.

Cheers

Yes, it's possible, but I guess Windows User Account Control is preventing you from saving the files.

Try moving the zip files to a new location, on your desktop for example, unzip them, make the changes, zip them again and copy them back in the VS folder. That should do the trick.

Cheers,
