If you install them with the Web Platform Installer (WPI), the installation tool will figure it out for you: http://www.microsoft.com/web/platform/

Do you know if these two programs work with Windows XP pack 3. I've been having problems. Do you have any tutorial or info on how to install these two programs (SQLManagementStudio_x86_ENU.exe and web platform installer). Do you have to change more defaults in windows? because I'm already having some problems when I was trying to deploy my page (and finally I wasn't able :().

According to the system requirements on this page: http://www.microsoft.com/web/downloads/platform.aspx Windows XP SP3+ is supported for WPI. In addition, according to this page: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en....aspx?id=25052 SQL Server Express 2008 should work on Windows XP SP3 as well.
If you can't make it work, contact Microsoft and open a suport ticket. This appears to be a supported scenario so they should be able to help you out.
Cheers,
Imar

Thanks Imar! I'll get in touch with MMS. Here is a link to a number of people who seems to have run into the same problem. No reply needed. Just FYI.

If you use WPI, the installer will figure it out. Otherwise, install SQL Server Express first, then Management Studio.
