Works on local machine, not on server: Could not load file or assembly 'AjaxControlTo

We implemented the AjaxControlToolkit in development, added some widgets and everything works fine.
The local machine is a win7 64-bit machine.

When we deploy the web application on our server (win server 2003, 32 bit) to IIS 5 we get the following exception:

Works on local machine, not on server: Could not load file or assembly 'AjaxControlToolkit' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

I hate to ask the obvious, but is the error message correct? Can the file not be found in the application's Bin folder? If the file isn't there you need to install the toolkit on the server or deploy the assembly to your site's bin.

If that doesn't help, you need to provide a lot more detail. Currently, yo just posted an error message which by itself isn't really useful.

I have installed Ajax control toolkit on my local computer and in the folder application is configured the folder bin with the AjaxControlToolkit.dll.

In the server I have installed ASPAJAXExtSetup.msi.

The folder application is T:\Inetpub\wwwroot\cs when T is the server mapping on my local computer.

makes no sense to me at all.

Does the server have a mapping to your work station that in turn serves as the root of the site in IIS on the server? I wouldn't do that. Copy the files *to* the server in a folder like C:\inetpub and make sure the web server has access to those files.

And is the Ajax Control toolkit assembly in your folder? What do you see when you go to the site in IIS, right-click its Bin folder and then choose Explore?

thanks a lot, fine !

I resolved this issue. It was a simple one....I didn't create the virtual directory for my project on server so I was getting this error, after creating virtual directory, it started working fine.

This thread might help someone else as well.
