I work for a non-profit and we send out a large monthly email newsletter to about 5,000 subscribers. Up until now, we've been paying a consultant a ridiculous amount to do this every month, and I've gotten sick of it, and finally I said ENOUGH! We can do this in-house. WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY!

Well, did I blow it? I've used CDOSYS to send up to a couple hundred emails at a time, but is there a hidden issue with sending to 5,000 with this technology?

Obviously I've thought about timeout issues with the script, and there are ways around that. And being marked as spam sucks, especially when you're legit, but I've gotten around that in the past by making sure the return server property is set to our exchange server.

Is there anything I'm missing?
