Default Forms and IF statements

How would I do this w/ php.

After a form is filled out, if "x" was picked do this. I just need a general answer to point me in the right direction.

A little more explanation?

Do you mean to check POST variables?

if ($_POST['face'] == "cake") { echo "url had ?face=cake!"; }
