Downgrade from PHP5 to 4 .. now only a 404

I downgraded from 5 to 4 to use osCommerce and now I can't get anything but Page Not Found 404. I thought I was good at this, using SAPI and NOT CGI.

Any thoughts, I know the file is there and was working .. the phpinfo.php displays the same.

It gets worse .. our IT folk felt we should go back to PHP 5, we did.

We get the same 404 error.

We have totally openned up the directories to "stupid" levels of open security. No effect. Not running CGI .. running SAPI (php5isapi.dll). Website extensions set to the dll. If I try to run php.exe the Webserver will not start.

We're stumped .. two days on this. Stupid is as stupid does! Any suggestions greatly appreciated. I thought I had a future in IT .. until this!

Please tell, waht are you using Apache or IIS?
What's location of phpinfo.php you say is working?

Running IIS6
PHP 5.1.2b

The phpinfo.php (or any PHP pages) hasn't worked since I downgraded from 5.0.2, back to 4.3.11, and then back to 5.1.2b. The installation method has been manual(all but one .. didn't work).

c:\php and c:\php\ext .. have been added to path. php5ts.dll and php5isapi.dll have been copied to c:\php, c:\windows, c:\windows\system, and c:\windows\system32. The php.ini file is located in c:\php.

The server is a production box, six months old, very well behaved. I've been doing this a while, but PHP is 6 months "new" to me.

5.0.2 worked great! Whaaa!
