Default Ruby support?

Does anyone have any information or examples of Ruby code that can access a MySQL database? I'm looking for something that can populate a new database. I've got a book on MySQL, but it doesn't have any references to Ruby. I'd need to know how to connect, among other things. I'd appreciate it if anyone can either post some examples, or refer me to a book that might help. Thanks....
