Default Attaching File with Mail using PHP

Hi everyone,

I am doing a concept of sending mail with attachment using PHP.
The problem is user could receive the attachment but the content is blank

For Ex:
If a customer has booked an item in our website,
he will receive an invoice through mail as an attachment (.doc,.rtf).Now the customer could download the file but there is no content(0kb).this happens at random.

I don't know why its happening also where i am struggling.
Can anyone help me out.

Cheers
Sankar
