php website with javascript check method

Hi,
Im building a survey site using php and mysql for the backend. However there is one functionality that Im stuck with. I want the users to be able to go back and see their radio button selections for the questions. I've been told to do this using javascript. But I have no idea how to. HELP PLEASE. !
