Default dos scripting in excel vb

I am trying to automate a process where i send a text delimited file created in excel through an ftp server to a website. in order to get through the fire wall there are some simple commands i need to enter in a dos prompt. is it possible to automate this inside an excel macro? if not, what kind of code should i be using? how would i do this?
