Hi, I'm very new to Visual Basic, and I've got a problem some of you may find quite simple.

Basically I need to know how to be able to control the zoom of an image held within a picturebox.

You scroll the bar, the picture zooms in and out. Simple? Not for me!

PaintPicture is the way to go. Just "google" there numerous samples for it. If not let me know I would write a sample and send you across.
