MS is not going to release any more VB and/or DevStudio, .NET is the new platform now.
VB is still supported in XP, but it is not clear on Whidbey (or Longhorn or whatever it is called), probably not.

I seem to recall seeing something about Visual Basic 2005. Is that the next .NET version of VB?

The Dev Studio 2005 is just a learning edition of .NET, if I recall correctly (it is hard to keep pace with MS)
