Default Media Control

I am making a simple video player, using a windows media plugin (wmp.(ocx, dll)) and i also a button stating "Load a movie.." and when you click it the commonDialog control pops open with a showOpen command (how do you get to a specified folder?) i would like to know where it loads that particular movie to?? how to retrieve it(simply, if not supply code to do with directions)?? if i can use a ProgressBar to show the loading of the movie?? and most of all how i can store the information bout the movie in a txt file(including location) so that it can quicly be retrieved with out the user having to go into the depths of his/her documents!!

Thanks to anyone who can understand and help with those questions, if you would like the source code then i will happily e-mail it to you(jst e-mail me first!) Thanks.
