Hi there,

I bought this book last week and i must say i am not dissapointed....

but ,the section Setting up the project in the chaper 2,3 donot seem to be woking ...the problem is with the setup file in the installer dirctory.
 each time i try i get this message...

"THE INSTALLER WAS INNERRUPTED BEFORE WROX FILE SHARE COULD BE INSTALLER.YOU NEED TO RESTART THE INSTALLER TO TRY AGAIN"

did this happen to anyone else...if yes plz let me know the solution ...

Hi Bharat,

What OS are you installing this on? Did you use a downloaded installer, or the one that came from the CD?

The error message sounds like an installer message; this means that the installer could be corrupted somehow...

Are you running any special software on your system that could prevent the installer from installing correctly? (think security software, AV software and so on)

I am using XP,I used the downloaded installer when the one on CD din't work.I also tried disabeling my AV(macfee).

Is there anyway of changing the installer?

No, you can't really change the installer. It's just a standard Visual Studio MSI installer. If it's broken, I think the only reason can be a broken file, or software blocking you from running it.
Alternatively, you may have an older version of the Windows installer on your machine. Check Windows update for a more recent version.

However, you don't really need the installer. You can run each site directly from within Visual Web Developer, or you can create a virtual directory for each app and map it to each app's folder on your hard drive. Let me know if you need more help with this....

I have the exact same problem. It happens with all of the installers on the CD. I downloaded some off this website too and they don't work for me either.

Very strange. Sound like a corrupted installer.

Have you tried downloading and installing the latest Windows Installer run-time? You get it for Windows XP through Windows Update.
And do the other chapters work OK?

Otherwise, you can always do a manual install, as explained in the book. The net result is exactly the same...
