i put the database in the database folder it doesn't work. it shows this error

: Failed to generate a user instance of SQL Server due to a failure in starting the process for the user instance. The connection will be closed.

Can you please provide a little bit more information? What database did you put in what folder? How do you open the site? From VWD or from IIS?

Try removing the User Instance attribute, or set it to True.

Otherwise, search Google for this

There could be a number of reasons for this errors; many people reported it in different scenarios so you'll need to see what solution fits yours...

I put data base in the App Data Folder. Double Click the database name in this case the Database Name SurveyDB.mdf and in the server explorer double click the data base. I open it through VWD

Are you sure SQL Express is configured correctly? Are you sure the account used by the web server (probably your own account when you're opening it from VWD) has permissions for the App_Data folder?

Did you try removing and changing the User Instance attribute?
