What i did is actually i created a new project and then drop all the files (which were in the Source folder of the CD) into the Project explorer window and then i set the path for the database. The errors i am getting is in every single class file (xyz.aspx.vb saying "Name xyz is not decleared"

Any help will be really appreciated.

Hi Sheraz,

Can you first confirm that the source project runs fine if you open it through File | Open Web Site?

What kind of project did you create? A "Web Application Project"? The sites that come with Visual Web Developer comes as "Web Folder Projects", so you can't really create a new project other than browsing to an existing, empty folder.

Why did you you create a separate project first? What are you trying to accomplish?

HI Imar
thanks for the reply...

Now i can run the project..I have chaged the sql server path in the webconfig file but now theproblem is I give error message "Login failed for the Login User SherazPC\ASPNET. I tried to fix the login configuration by following the steps given in Chap 6 (Pg 202) But as soon as i click on the Security tab I get the followin error message

"There is a problem with your selected data store. This can be caused by an invalid server name or credentials, or by insufficient permission. It can also be caused by the role manager feature not being enabled. Click the button below to be redirected to a page where you can choose a new data store.

The following message may help in diagnosing the problem: Unable to connect to SQL Server database. "
