Is there a way of programming the repeater control used for the categories to add nested sub-categories or am I better off using a treeview control?

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated!!

Yeah, you could do it. You can declaratively bind the DataSource property of the nested Repeater to a property of the outer repeater. Alternatively, you can do it programmatically in the event that the outer repeater fires.

Depending on your data and depth, a TreeView makes a lot more sense though.
