I have a managed server and shared SQL database. I also have Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005 and cannot get the connection stream to connect to the shared SQL database instead of the App_Data folder where the database is stored locally.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to solve this issue? And also to copy the database files to the remote database.

Thanks!
Keith

When you say "managed server", I assume you mean a commercial shared hosting account? The book has a chapter on deployment that covers that. You can't copy SQL files to a shared server, instead, you can use Sql Server Management Studio to copy the database contents.

Your connection string will have to point to the SQL Server you want to use. By default it's setup for App_Data.
