Default Top changes to the original code

Just thought this would be a good 'repository' for snippets of little bits of code (amendements or otherwise) that have measurable performance and/or scalability benefits over the original (and much loved ;)) beerhouse project.

I was going to get the ball rolling with the piece that i posted here: http://p2p.wrox.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=62823

but thought that i'd let the dust settle on that one first - plus, it would seem a bit vain to start a thread of this nature and include ones own change(s) at the top.

So come on folks, post the little gems here and we'll see just how 'rigid' and responsive we can make a co-opted version 1.1 of the beerhouse.

Entries should include (but not limited to):

1. Name of class/file to which change is associated
2. Full amended method listing (with comments where required)
3. information re additional 'using' declaratives
4. any additional requirements not visible to the method (i.e. page level static varibles etc)
5. benefit

Entries should also be limited to using inbuilt functionality and not 3rd party controls (unless readily available as freeware, such as asp.ajax etc etc). ok, with that little list of pre-conditions, i expect most peeps to be well put off :D - but don't be shy, who's gonna be 1st???

[edit] changes can include entire modules if necessary and could be referenced via a hyperlink to the server holding the zip file.

<-- the space below reserved for said gems -->

I'm working on the tagging system. However, I am not re-using the TBH code. I based my code on the structure, be redesigned a lot. I will post HOW I included tagging. I'll try to describe as much as I can in detail.
