Default How the top menu get created

I wonder how the top menu HOME, ARTICLE, STORE, FORUM, ABOUT, CONTACT get created. I spend sometime look at the codes and master file but couldn't understand how it get created. Could anyone tell me? I know this is simple to most of you. Thanks in advance.

The menu control in template.master consumes the web.sitemap file, which contains those menu items. This is done via the SiteMapDataSource.
