Yes, we're saying the same thing. The confusion started here:

This is what confuses most people at first when they page, not sort in the database. Your statement here seemed to indicate you got confused by that as well.
And yes, I agree that full sorting and paging client side would work perfectly, given that indeed the result set is "small enough"....
