I'm glad you got it working. I read your messages, but I didn't have any helpful ideas for you. We learn a lot by working through problems like this, and it develops our problem-solving skills.
I've learned a lot from working on this project. This lets us work with a real-world project and we can learn lessons that can't be learned from introductory books.
I really hope Wiley considers having someone update this book for VS 2005. This would make a great demo project for ASP.NET 2.0 if we could make use of the new 2.0 features, like Master Pages, Web Part zones, Personalization, and the new data components. This would both cut the size of the overall code, and add a lot of new functionality.
