Default No joy making the downloaded sample code run

I'm probably missing something stupid and obvious, but after following the instructions to the letter (as far as I can see), no joy.

I then made a new virtual directory in the computer manager, and pointed it correctly at the wrox\thephile directory, and right-click-Browse'd it, and I'm getting a 'page cannot be displayed' error. Not even the custom one.

One thing that concerned me, that MAY have an impact, is that it looks like this book was written for the 1.0 of the .NET framework, not the 1.1 or 2.0 beta. I have all three installed. With the 2.0 beta, you can right click on a site and tell it which version of the framework to use with it in the properties tab. Tried each one - no joy.

I've added the username attribute to the machine.configs of 1.0 and 1.1 frameworks, and I've pointed it at the SQL Database correctly, etc...I just can't get things to happen. Any ideas?

What errors do you get when running it inside Visual Studio, when I ran mine for the first time there where a lot of configuration changes that need to be done. Also did you change the config files for each module under the config folders. Each of them needs to have the database changed. The other thing that I did was to remove the .snk referance from eash assembly.cs file for each of the projects inside the solution.

The code runs against VS 2003 readily with just a few minor changes.
