Hi

I am having difficulty installing the database.
I beleive i have all the necessary tools to complete this task.

I have visual studio.net,SQL Server Enterprise Manager and msde.

With the help from the members of these boards i managed to install
and complete the case study that came with Beginning Asp.Net Databases using C.
So i know that all these 3 components function properly.


So if someone can help me install the database and please be as detailed as possible.

The code download has a backup file. You just need to create a DB called "ThePhile" in SQL Server's Enterprise Manager, then restore the DB backup file to that new DB.

If you have more problems, you need to post the details.

please follow the instructions given below to install the database on your machine.




open the Enterprise manager and connect to your MSDE, create a new database named “ThePhile”.

Right on the newly created database named “ThePhile” and select “Restore Database” from “All Task” submenu

Select “From device” options and then press select device button in the displayed dialog box

Now in the Choose Restore Devices dialog box click on the add button and browse the location where your backup file exist on your hard drive and select the file

After selecting the file in Choose Restore Devices dialog box, now press the OK to close this dialog box. Now you will be returned to the “Restore Database” dialog box with the selected file being listed.

Press OK button to start the restoring process and wait for its completion. After completion you will be able to browse the database.
