Default Half the code in Access 2000 VBA doesn't work

At least it doesn't work for me.

I'm so sick of this. I can't be the only one. Other users here have highlighted some of the problems. Is it just me or is there a great big honking printing error on page 116? I'm using Beginning Access 2000 VBA, date 2003, ISBN 0-7645-4383-0. The text just stops about 75% of the way down page 116 and I can never get the code to execute...cos, y'know, I bought the book to LEARN.

The whole 'seats on the plane' bit doesn't work for me either. It trips up here:

 intRow = Left$(strSeatNumber, 2)

I'm well sick of this.
